Amanda is a Registered Nurse and has been providing advanced medical support with the Australian Defence Force since 1997. Amanda’s Royal Australian Navy (RAN) Training saw her regularly working on Defence ships in SCBA and fire protective ensemble or CBRN ensemble. She has extensive training in triage of personnel during multi-layered risk, high stress situations involving chemical exposure, burn and explosive injuries.
Over a decade of nursing experience with exposure to multiple areas of the Healthcare System has introduced Amanda to a diverse range of clinical and critical situations. The key areas include Emergency Department, Underwater Medicine, Cardio Thoracic, General Practice, Dialysis, Mental Health, Orthopaedics, Medical Response to Chemical Warfare Agents Exposure, Outpatients, Rehabilitation and Aged Care.
